The Simetria® Fall Prevention Program is designed to identify and assist older people who are at risk of falling. Falls affect entire families. Even single falls are associated with greater rates of hospitalization, physician contact and nursing home stays. Through diagnosis, preventative therapy and appropriate treatment, our goal is to increase the quality and longevity of life for older citizens.

The key to our success is identifying the cause of falls. Dizziness, vertigo and other balance disorders are the reasons most people give for falling. These complaints are not diseases but are symptoms of a problem in the balance system. The human balance system is made up of three different sets of sensors connected to our vision, muscles, joints and inner ear. The technical name for this complex set of sensors is the vestibular system. Difficulties in any one of these sensor groups can cause dizziness, disorientation or unsteadiness.
